Space operators reversed Friday's selloff broadly, with Intuitive Machines leading on a Cantor upgrade and no traded name closing red.
Intuitive Machines (LUNR) led, up 12.9% to $15.72, on a dated analyst catalyst: Cantor Fitzgerald reiterated an Overweight rating and $32 price target, highlighting the company's handoff of the IM-1300-series SXM-11 satellite to SiriusXM and a 13-spacecraft collaboration built through the Lanteris acquisition. The move sits on the spacecraft-bus-and-integration chokepoint the vertical maps — the build-and-deliver capacity that turns a contract into a flown asset — with the lunar CLPS franchise as the optionality on top. It was one of the few names tied to a specific milestone rather than pure sentiment, which is why it led.
There was no traded laggard. The largest decliner among quotable tickers was the non-traded Fundrise Innovation Fund (VCX), whose NAV mark eased 2.0% to $30.79 — a valuation revision, not a session selloff. Karman (KRMN) −1.5% to $35.21 and SpaceX's private-valuation line (SPCX) −0.6% to $151.85 were the only other soft marks; every traded operator in the basket rose, a near-total reversal of Friday's risk-off.
The reversal ran across the operator tier. Rocket Lab (RKLB) +8.2% to $69.89 firmed after completing its 96th Electron mission over the weekend and finishing pre-flight testing of the "Hungry Hippo" fairing for its reusable Neutron rocket — progress on the launch-cadence chokepoint. Satellogic (SATL) +9.2% to $5.58, Firefly (FLY) +8.8% to $22.83, Redwire (RDW) +8.0% to $11.60, BlackSky (BKSY) +6.9% to $23.17, and AST SpaceMobile (ASTS) +5.8% to $61.89 all unwound Friday's decline across the Earth-observation, launch, and direct-to-cell rungs, marking this as a sector-wide risk-on bounce rather than company-specific news. The space-grade semiconductor and timing layer firmed with the broad chip bid: SiTime (SITM) +3.9% to $638.32 on the precision-timing rung — the position-navigation-timing chokepoint every constellation depends on — and Iridium (IRDM) +3.1% to $48.21.
The catalysts ahead are launch- and program-driven. Satellogic's first AI-first constellation satellite launch is targeted for October 31 — the demonstration that would test today's rebound directly. L3Harris's majority sale of its Rocketdyne (RL10) space-propulsion unit to AE Industrial is expected to close around the end of September, a structural read on the propulsion chokepoint. SDA Tranche 3 Tracking Layer production milestones land in December, and Rocket Lab's Neutron maiden launch sits in a Q4 window — the swing factor for its manifest economics. On the supply and capital side, China's germanium/gallium export-ban suspension lapses November 27, a direct input to space-grade optics and semiconductors, and SpaceX's 180-day IPO lockup fully expires December 9, a supply overhang for the sector's benchmark name.
