SiTime's blowout quarter sent the precision-timing chokepoint up 27% and led a broad space-and-satellite rally, while rad-hard chip name Microchip gave back its own post-earnings pop.

SiTime was the day's standout, up +26.6% to $687.50 after a quarter that reset the trajectory. Q2 adjusted EPS of $2.34 crushed the $1.95 estimate, revenue more than doubled year over year to $157.4M, gross margin held at 67.1%, and Q3 guidance of $3.50–3.65 EPS on $285–295M revenue ran far ahead of the ~$2.49 and ~$220M Street numbers — helped by the step-change in scale from the Renesas timing acquisition. SiTime owns the precision-timing chokepoint: the MEMS oscillators that supply the frequency reference for satellites, GPS payloads, phased-array antennas and the datacenters on the ground. In a constellation, timing is not a component you can skip, and the market repriced the one name that controls it.

The move anchored a broad rally across the space complex. CACI jumped +21.4% to $628.79 on its fiscal-Q4 blowout at the defense-intelligence choke; on-orbit-servicing name Astroscale rose +10.9%, earth-observation names BlackSky +10.4% and Redwire +10.4%, Intuitive Machines +6.7% at the lunar-logistics choke, SpaceX +6.1% to $114.92, Telesat +5.5%, Firefly +5.3% ahead of its launch cadence, Frequency Electronics +4.7% at the atomic-clocks-and-PNT choke, and Satellogic +4.6%. It was one of those sessions where a single blowout print in a keystone name pulls an entire vertical's beta with it, and the breadth — from imaging to launch to timing — was notably wide.

The laggard was quieter and mechanical. Microchip fell −4.4% to $74.36, giving back part of a post-earnings pop earlier in the week when its Q2 beat (revenue +38% to $1.48B, above-consensus Q3 guidance) had lifted the stock ~7%. Microchip is the radiation-hardened-microcontroller supplier at the flight-electronics choke, and the pullback was profit-taking on a two-day round trip rather than any fresh negative — a distinction worth keeping straight against an otherwise green basket and a broadly soft tape (S&P −0.2%).

The calendar into late August is dense with the reporting names. AST SpaceMobile reports August 10, Redwire and Viasat on August 12, Gilat on August 13, and Intuitive Machines on August 18, with SpaceX's first post-IPO quarterly print estimated around August 20 and its initial lock-up tranche releasing near August 21. The Northrop Grumman/DARPA RSGS robotic-servicing vehicle is slated to launch on a Falcon 9 around August 15, the SmallSat Conference convenes in Salt Lake City from August 23, and the SDA's Tranche 2 Transport Layer launches are set to begin September 1 — the proliferated-LEO buildout that every timing, sensor and ground-segment name in this basket ultimately feeds.
