The defense-prime re-rating lifted space names (CACI +7.7%, Northrop +5.6%), while the precision-timing silicon chokepoint (SiTime −14.5%) was gutted in the second-day chip rout.

CACI (CACI) led the space basket, up 7.7% to $502.83, riding the sector-wide defense re-rating that AeroVironment's record quarter and a wave of bullish analyst initiations set off. CACI's space angle is the optical-terminals and spectrum chokepoint — laser crosslinks, ground and SIGINT systems, and spectrum-superiority technology for national-security constellations. Its outsized gain, ahead of even Northrop's, reflects both the defensive rotation on a weak-jobs day that lifted the Dow to a record and steady enthusiasm for its intelligence franchise; CACI reports fiscal Q4 on August 7.

The laggard was SiTime (SITM), down 14.5% to $601.66, the basket's worst, as the precision-timing chokepoint was swept into the semiconductor selloff (the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index fell 6.7%). SiTime's MEMS oscillators are the timing reference — the atomic-clocks and PNT node — that satellites, launch vehicles and data centers synchronize to; the stock fell on profit-taking after a steep run, not company news. The rest of the space-silicon layer went with it: rad-hard supplier Microchip (MCHP) −4.6% and STMicroelectronics' US line (STM) −3.4%.

The split was clean — primes up, components down. Northrop (NOC) +5.6% on launch and in-space infrastructure, BAE's US line (BAESY) +6.5% on rad-hard silicon, Boeing (BA) +3.6%, MDA Space (MDA) +3.2%, L3Harris (LHX) +3.4% on propulsion, and Karman (KRMN) +2.6% all rose with the defense bid; Rocket Lab (RKLB) was roughly flat at +0.4%. The losers clustered in the smaller component and payload chokepoints: Comtech (CMTL) −8.5% on the ground-segment node, Redwire (RDW) −5.5% on space-solar and in-space infrastructure, and Iridium (IRDM) −3.5%.

The launch and earnings calendar is busy. Frequency Electronics reports July 9, then a late-July cluster: Texas Instruments (July 21); L3Harris, STMicro and Teledyne (July 23); and Iridium (July 24), with its PNT ASIC guided to commercial availability around end-July. In August, Northrop's DARPA Mission Robotic Vehicle (RSGS) is slated to launch on a Falcon 9 around August 15, and SDA Tranche 2 Transport Layer launches begin around September — the demand wave behind the optical-terminal chokepoint CACI and Rocket Lab play.
