The listed space complex got crushed in the SpaceX-IPO rotation and risk-off tape, with SES's US line −12% and Rocket Lab −10%, while space-cell maker 5N Plus held green.

5N Plus's US line (FPLSF) rose 3.3% to $27.73, the basket's only notable gainer — the owner of AZUR SPACE, the space-grade solar-cell maker that holds the space-solar-power chokepoint, partially rebounding from a sharp June 23 drop. On a session that crushed the speculative launch-and-satellite names, the upstream materials supplier that sells cells into virtually every constellation held its ground. The framing the tape rewarded is the vertical's own: own the cell that powers the satellite, not the constellation chasing revenue. (The move is on a thin Canadian OTC line, so read it as direction more than precision.)

SES's US line (SGBAF) fell 12.0% to $7.35, the worst in the basket — the GEO/MEO operator that, post-Intelsat, runs roughly 120 satellites and the ground-segment chokepoint, extending a two-week slide. The whole listed complex was hit by the continued rotation out of public space names since SpaceX's June 14 trading debut, layered on the broad risk-off Wednesday. The cleaner read on the rout is Rocket Lab (RKLB −10.2%, $85.41), the launch-side bellwether, which fell just as hard as the constellation operators.

Breadth was brutal across every chokepoint. Earth-observation sold off — Satellogic (SATL −9.4%), Planet Labs (PL −7.8%); in-space infrastructure fell with Intuitive Machines (LUNR −8.7%); launch and propulsion dropped with Firefly (FLY −8.2%) and Redwire (RDW −6.9%); and the direct-to-device names AST SpaceMobile (ASTS −6.7%) and BlackSky (BKSY −6.3%) followed. SpaceX's record IPO has drawn cash and attention away from the listed peers, and a risk-off tape did the rest. The defense-anchored names held better — Boeing (+1.6%), Moog (+0.7%).

The earnings wave opens soon. Frequency Electronics reports fiscal-Q4/FY2026 on July 9; L3Harris, STMicroelectronics and Teledyne all print July 23, and Iridium reports July 24 with its PNT-ASIC commercial availability targeted for mid-2026 — a concrete read on the resilient-PNT chokepoint as GPS alternatives move toward production. 5N Plus's own Q2 (Aug 4) is the next scheduled look at the space-cell strait that led the basket today.
